AI for India's defence & security training

Chakravyuha AI

Abhimanyu could break into the Chakravyuha but not out of it, because his training was incomplete. Chakravyuha AI is about complete training: every jawan watches, checks, practises and improves until the skill is second nature.

Try the missions below. They are short, safe simulations built the same way we turn a training manual into practice.

Half-learned is not trained

Abhimanyu heard how to enter the Chakravyuha while still in his mother's womb, but the lesson on how to exit was never finished. On the 13th day of the Kurukshetra war, that gap in his training trapped him.

Thick manuals and long lectures leave the same kind of gaps. A jawan may read the procedure, but has never done it under pressure. AI changes this by turning each manual into a short, repeatable loop that tells the instructor exactly where every trainee needs more practice.

Old way: read the book

  • A 300+ page manual
  • Same pace for everyone
  • Tested once, weeks later
  • Mistakes happen in the field

New way: the AI training loop

  • 5-minute micro-video
  • Instant quiz with feedback
  • Simulation: fail safely, repeat
  • AI coach targets weak spots

From manual to mission-ready

A 75-second explainer for commanders, instructors and trainees: why a jawan learns faster with a video, a quiz and a simulation than with a book alone.

  • Turns a thick manual into bite-sized lessons
  • Checks understanding in seconds
  • Lets trainees practise risky drills safely
  • Shows instructors who is ready, and who is not

Training ground: five missions

Each mission is a short simulation with an AI coach. Complete all five to raise your readiness score and earn every badge.

Mission 2 · Casualty triage drill

A training exercise has gone wrong and there are eight casualties. Tag each one Immediate, Delayed or Minor using the START method (walking? breathing rate? pulse? obeys commands?). The clock starts at your first tag.

Mission 3 · Night border watch

Watch the thermal drone feed. Tap every heat signature before it leaves the frame, then label it Person, Vehicle or Animal. Round 1 is just you; in Round 2 an AI vision model draws boxes for you. Be careful: low-confidence boxes can be wrong.

Round 1 · Unaided watch

40 seconds. Tap each heat signature, then label it. Signatures that leave the frame unreported count as missed.

Mission 4 · Range safety & flight stability

This mission was built from a manual. It shows how a chapter of text becomes a two-minute drill.

Sustain
📖 Source manual: the safety-first chapters (organisation and safety code, pre-flight testing, launch-site layout) and the basic aerodynamic balance principle in Capt. Bertrand R. Brinley's Rocket Manual for Amateurs (1960), turned into an ordering drill and a stability lab.

A · Put the launch drill in order

Tap the steps in the order you would carry them out. Tap a numbered step again to remove it.

    B · Stability lab

A rocket flies straight only when its centre of gravity (CG) sits ahead of its centre of pressure (CP), ideally by 1–2 body widths. Adjust it and launch.

    Mission 5 · Knowledge check

Eight quick questions on everything above. You get instant feedback after each answer.

    Check

Where AI is helping India's armed forces

Choose an area to see what AI does, a public example from India, and what stays with the human.

Who should decide: AI or the human?

Good defence AI keeps an accountable human in charge of high-stakes calls. Choose who should decide in each case.

      • Human in command of high-stakes decisions
      • Trained on verified, unbiased data
      • Tested in simulation before the field
      • Every AI suggestion is logged and auditable

      Discuss

Your simulation scores rose in Round 2 with AI help. What could go wrong if a trainee trusted every AI box?

      Design

Pick any manual or SOP you know. Turn one chapter into a four-step loop: watch, check, practise, improve.

      Debate

Where should the line sit between "AI acts" and "AI recommends"? Use the four cases above.

      Measure

How would you prove a simulation-based course trains faster than a book-based one? What data would you collect?

Turn your training manual into a Chakravyuha

Share a manual, SOP or drill book. We turn it into micro-videos, quizzes and simulations with readiness dashboards for instructors.

Note: The missions are simplified training illustrations for learning purposes, not operational doctrine. The triage drill follows the civilian START method. Facts about Indian defence AI come from the public sources listed below.
